We have a Windows 2003 Server with IIS6. When the server IP is pinged we get a response but are unable to get to websites on server. What would you suggest?

The first suspect is the Windows firewall. Turn the firewall "OFF" and try to get to the websites. If you can, the firewall configuration needs to be checked. If you can't, turn the firewall back "ON".

Next goto IIS check FTP, AppPool, Websites

If any are disabled and not running, enable them, then check to see if your websites are accessible.

If all are running, goto Administrator Tools, Services, check and make sure WWW (World Wide Web) is started. If it is, your problem may be the result of a DOS (Denial of Service) attack.

Try shutting down your server (not restart) Full Power Down. Then turn power back on.

If any of these suggestions were helpful come back and let us know.
If not further help is available.
