While you are in MS Word, click on Help in Main Menu, then click on Microsoft Office Word Help or (F1). In the help area search window, type in International Characters, then click on (rt arrow) or (go). In the list you will find "Keyboard Shortcuts for international characters", click on this link. Here you will find a complete description of how to use international characters.

In Microsoft Word 2003, you can try this. Goto the top tool bar and click on "Insert", next click on "Symbol". From the window that pops up you can choose the font, symbol, and subset. It will also show you the shortcut keys for the symbol you want. From here you can also insert your symbol into a document.
