I use Firefox as my browser. I would like to turn off updates and notifications. Then I can manually choose to update or not, when I want.

Also turn off, "Use a Background Service to Install Updates"

In Firefox versions 56 and above

Type "about:preferences#general" in the address bar then "press Enter"
Under General, select "Update"
Select "Never Check for Updates"
Also turn off, "Use a Background Service to Install Updates"

Next type "about:config" in the address bar "press Enter" (promise to be careful, if asked)(BE CAREFUL)

Type "app.update.auto" in search bar
Set its value to "False"
