In Internet Explorer you need to look carefully at the download window, there will be a box that allows you to choose the download location. IE 8 will ask you where you want to save the download file. Firefox and Chrome make the choice for you but thru their options you can change this. If you are not careful when downloading and don't look at the download window to see the location and/or the file name, it may be difficult to find the file. If you know the location and not the file name, you can sort the location by date newest first. Your file should be the first in the list. If you know the file name and not the location, you can goto <start>, <search>, (all files and folders), put your file name in the proper box, choose all drives then <search>. One thing about download file names, quite often they are very cryptic and hard to remember, I suggest adding to the file name: original file (bfu248109ds.msi) improved file name could be (BackFireUpdate_bfu248109ds.msi) this should make it easier to remember and find. When searching for a file, you don't need the whole file name. Using the example above, you could search for BackFireUpdate to find your file. |
