Some of my older programs won't install or run. What do I need to do to get them to install or run?

Some older programs will install and run without any problems, but if they won't try the following:

Rt click installation file
Select "Properties"
Select "Compatibility Tab"
Select "Run the Program in Compatibility Mode for:

From the pull down menu choose the latest version of Windows which you know the program was running on.

Select " The Program"

This step may have to be repeated after the program has been installed, by:

Rt Click "Program Icon"
Select "Properties"
Select "Compatibility Tab"
Select "Run the Program in Compatibility Mode for:

From the pull down menu choose the latest version of Windows which you know the program was running on.

Select " The Program"

If your older program fails to run or install, try other Windows versions also you can try choosing other settings options. Choosing to "Run as Administrator" may also allow the older program to install and run.
