I use IE and Mozilla Firefox on different networks but IE dosen't want to connect to the Internet and Mozilla works fine. All diagnostics show everything is working OK.

If you aren't using a Proxy Server, check the IE options and make sure that Proxy Server is off. Having it turned on when you aren't using it can prevent connection to the Internet. In IE click Tools, click Internet Options, click Connections, click LAN Settings, uncheck Use a Proxy Server, click OK.
If you are using a Proxy Server, check the IE options and make sure that Proxy Server is on. In IE click Tools, click Internet Options, click Connections, click LAN Settings, check Use a Proxy Server, also make sure the Proxy Server Settings are correct, then click OK.
