I have gotten malware from a number of sites, how can I tell if a site is safe?

Viruses and spyware can sneak onto your PC when you visit certain sites. Figuring out if a site is safe before you click on it is what you need to do.

A good starting place, go to Web of Trust (www.mywot.com), they provide a free browser plug-in that is available for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers. This tool gets search results before you click them, it uses a traffic light rating system (red, yellow, green) to indicate which links you should avoid, which require caution and which are safe. It is based on user experiences with different sites.
